CURFEW PASSES TO BE GIVEN TO THE VENDORS OF MILK AND VEGETABLE
Jalandhar, March 23- The District Magistrate Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma on Monday said that the supply of the essential items including milk and vegetables would be done door to door so that the people do not face any kind of problems in availing the essential services, in the wake of imposed curfew.
Presiding over a meeting along with Commissioner of Police Mr Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mr Navjot Singh Mahal, Mr Sharma said that the retail shops would not be allowed to open in any kind of situation.
He said that the milk and vegetable vendors will be given curfew passes by the administration and they will be allowed to sell these essential items door to door area wise.
He said that the vendors will have to ring the doorbells outside each house and will not sell the milk and vegetables by parking the carts at one place in the area as it will create the issue of the crowd.
Mr Sharma asked the Verka Milk Plant and Mandi department to ensure the supply of milk pouches and milk powder and vegetables to the vendors twice in a day and directed them to deliver the curfew passes to the vendors in the early morning.
He asked the police department to ensure the vehicles of the food and milk supply, newspapers, LPG cylinders and staff of hospitals including, doctors and paramedical staff and others do not face any kind of the problem. Further, the staff of IT communication companies must remain unaffected.
The District Magistrate directed the Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) to ensure the supply of essential commodities remain uninterrupted supply in the district.
on the occasion, the Additional Deputy Commissioners (D) Mr Vishesh Sarangal, Mr Jasbir Singh, DCPs Mr Gurmeet Singh, Mr Arun Saini, SDMs Mr Amit Kumar Panchal, Mr Rahul Sindhu, Dr Jai Inder Singh, Mr Sanjiv Kumar Sharma, Dr Vaneet Kumar, Civil Surgeon Dr Gurinder Kaur Chawla, Medical Superintendent Dr Mandeep Kaur, DFSC Mr Narinder Singh, SMO Dr Kashmiri Lal and others were present.
